21st Century Communities
So I’m reading about asset mapping and the readings are kind of geared toward “community” development and determining what your “local” assets are. Well, I’m looking into an opportunity for a website to promote corporate social responsibility, so what is “local” for a website? That got me thinking about different types of “communities” - not necessarily physical communities where a social enterprise might be located. There is the business community that I would be operating in - not a geographical group of people, but a community nonetheless. And there is the online community. In a sense, the internet ties us all together so that we can pool resources, share information, and tackle problems together. Indeed, the reason I started looking into this website was the concept of leveraging technology to address global issues.
Now, all I have to do is “map” the internet. Hmmmm….
